Trailer Hire Conditions

You must be 25-70 years of age and hold a full driving license with the correct towing categories listed. Please see 'License to Tow' form.

When collecting your trailer for hire from JB Trailer Hire, you will need to provide us with your full drivers license (card & paper copy) which confirms you are legally able to tow one of our trailers and two forms of identification showing your current address that are no more than 3 months old.

If you wish to travel abroad with the Trailer, we will need to see a valid passport. All necessary documentation will be scanned/copied and held for the duration of your hire with JB Trailer Hire.

It is a requirement of our Insurance Company through the NTTA that we ask for this information, therefore please note that JB Trailer Hire reserve the right to decline the hire, even if your booking has been held for some time, where identification is insufficient.

It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure the Trailer hired from JB Trailer Hire has the correct number plate visible. A square yellow plate is required for the box trailer, and normal car plates for the other trailers.

It will be necessary for you to provide JB Trailer Hire with a £250 deposit for the hire of any of our trailers. This can be in the form of a cheque made payable to JB Garden Services and will be held for the duration of the hire. The cheque will be returned on a satisfactory final inspection, however any damage to the trailer will result in JB Trailer Hire keeping this deposit. We are in the process of sorting out a credit/debit card this space!

All JB Trailer Hire trailers have been insured through the NTTA, with fully comprehensive Accidental Damage, Fire & Theft cover and includes £1,000,000 of public liability insurance cover.

We also provide Trailer Hire insurance for you, which is included in the price of your hire – this covers our Trailers while they are in your possession and away from our premises.

It is however advisable to check with your own insurance company that you are covered on your own car insurance to tow a trailer or a caravan.

It is always best to be covered for all eventualities.

At your collection you will be asked to show JB Trailer Hire your drivers license and identification.

You will then be asked to complete the 'Hire Contract' form, part of this Hire Contract includes a brief inspection of the Trailer prior to your hiring.

A copy of the Towing Information, Rules & Regulations will be provided.

Your deposit of £250 will be taken.

And a full demonstration on how to tow your chosen Trailer will be given if necessary. At JB Trailer Hire we like to make sure you are 100% happy before towing away.

Please return your trailer to JB Trailer Hire as it was provided, empty clean, road worthy and damage free. The Trailer will be checked over for any damage on its return and your deposit cheque returned.

Any loss or damage occurred to the trailer during the hire period will be the responsibility of the hirer and the deposit provided at the start of the hire period will be used as part payment for repairs.

Loss or damage to any item transported in the Trailer or to the hirers towing vehicle is the responsibility of the hirer and must be insured separately. The trailer is insured through JB Trailer Hire.
